Following breakfast, the journey from Jaipur to Agra begins. We stop in Fatehpur Sikri, the Mughal Empire’s abandoned capital, along the way. The Buland Darwaza, which is enormous, and the remarkable fusion of Islamic and Hindu architecture with Jain and Buddhist influences are the place’s main attractions. The Mughal capital was established here by Emperor Akbar, but owing to a shortage of water, it was later moved back to Delhi. After reaching Agra in the evening, we settle into our hotel for the night.

Day 5: Agra tour

You have the option of visiting the Taj Mahal early in the morning to see the sun rise over the monument made of white marble. You might perhaps have a leisurely breakfast before starting the Agra sightseeing trip. One of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal is the first destination. Though the temples are often famous for their depictions of “Kamasutra” and sensual sculptures, the meanings of these sculptures have changed with time. The 22 temples that make up the complex lack any sensual statues of the gods. Some of the gods are still revered, like at the Matangeshwara temple, which has been in operation for a thousand years.
